I Downloaded VS 2012 and it worked first try. For example I was using Visual Studio 2015 with Intel XE 2016 and the errors were shown below in the comments. The version of Fortran Compiler needs to be the same or higher. The version of visual studio C++ compiler must be exactly the one that is written. You have to use this website & find your version of Abaqus.
